Jamal Adams is an American football safety for the New York Jets of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Jets sixth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team.

Adams was born in Lewisville, Texas on October 17, 1995, to George Adams and Michelle Reyes-Adams. He has two older sisters, Jordan and Jaden. His father played running back for the New York Giants from 1985 to 1989.

Adams attended Lewisville High School, where he played football and ran track. In football, he was a three-time all-district selection and helped lead his team to a 15-1 record and a state championship as a junior in 2013 . He was also named the District Defensive Player of the Year as a senior. In track & field, Adams competed as a sprinter and jumper.
